Winning Golf TV Travels to PGA Merchandise Show
Doug Hendricks, host and producer of Winning Golf headed south to Orlando for the 60th anniversary of the PGA Merchandise show. For Doug, this will be his 31st season attending the show which hosts over 50,000 Golf Professionals and Golf vendors from around the world.
The PGA Show began in the early 1950’s and was first held in under a tent in a parking lot in Port St. Lucie, Fla. What started with a few sales reps has now grown into a 4-day event with over 1,000 vendors and is held in the spectacular Orlando Convention Center. To give you a feel for the size of this massive trade show, it’s possible to walk over 10 miles and not get to visit every vendor.
The first leg of the PGA Show, which started on Wednesday, January 23rd, was the 11th Annual PGA Demo Day held at the beautiful Orange County National Golf Center and Lodge. This exciting “demo day” hosts over 100 golf companies which not only display their latest and greatest products for 2013 but allow you to see, feel, and test these products in real conditions. The products include drivers, fairway woods, hybrids, irons, wedges, putters, grips, shafts and numerous training aids.
Orange County is the perfect venue for this huge event with its 42 acre driving range, 360 degree hitting area as well as 600 tee spaces and to many targets to count. Of course the bonus was 70 degree temperatures with bright blue skies.
